La medicina dell’adolescenza… è psicosomatica
In the pediatrics of the last few decades, there has been a growing focus on adolescents and the specific problems of this stage of life. Cosa caratterizza la medicina dell’adolescenza, con pazienti che spesso si presentano “solo” per un disturbo somatico oppure “solo” con una problematica della sfera psichica o relazionale e con i quali è necessario instaurare una relazione di fiducia? To understand the complexity of this period of development, an effective medical approach is based on the paradigms of psychosomatic medicine. Nella conferenza saranno illustrate alcune caratteristiche dell’affascinante lavoro diagnostico e terapeutico nelle consultazioni per adolescenti.

From Slow Food to Slow Medicine and…
Some cultural history and its relation to psychosomatics
The international Slow Food movement was launched in 1989, originally in response to the opening of a branch of the McDonald’s fast food chain in Rome in 1986. Slow Food stands for enjoyment, responsibility and sustainability. The patient-oriented approach of Slow Medicine with its characteristics of moderation, respect and fairness can be derived from this. This includes mindful and patient-centered action in a medical context and forms the foundation of our psychosomatic approach.

Functional neurological disorders in adolescents in neuropaediatrics: rarity or normality?
During the storm of puberty, various restructuring processes and stress often lead to functional disorders, particularly in adolescents, which can be triggered, maintained or exacerbated by developmental characteristics and pre-existing neurological conditions. The lecture will examine the basic bio-psychosocial mechanisms of the development of functional neurological disorders, as well as the various influencing and precipitating factors in the puberty of the adolescents assigned to us.

The principle of Slow Medicine – taught in treatment – also lived yourself?
This workshop is intended to shake up where our self-care parts remain in our everyday work. Do they exist? Can they exist? Does what we give our patients also apply to us?
Are we accepted and recognized as good practitioners if we also think about ourselves in our day-to-day work?
